ما وهنا ما وهنا … نحن أحفاد المثنى
We have not despaired. We are the descendants of al-Muthanna
في طريق المجد سرنا… اسألوا التاريخ عنا
On the path of glory we walked. Ask the history about us.
Our glory has series. Our might is like the walls of Shushtar
واسألوا قصر المدائن … إذ به القعقاع كبر
And ask the castles of Madaa’in, when Qa’qa was shouting takbir therein
لا نبالي لو أردنا… خلع هامات الجبال
We are not concerned, if we wished to tear the tops of mountains…
في سبيل الله سرنا… عبر ساحات القتال
On the path of Allah we have walked, through the fields of war
أيها التاريخ عدنا… قد رجعنا من جديد
Oh history, we returned. We have returned again.
بالدماء قد كتبنا… صفحة المجد التليد
With blood we have written, a page of inherent glory
اسألوا جند الصليب … اسألوا جند التتار
Ask the armies of the crusaders, the army of Mongols
هل يئسنا من قتال… أو كُسرنا من حصار
Did we renounce from fighting? Or have we been destroyed by siege?
واذكروا فتحًا بمكة… بعد صبر وانتظار
Remember the conquest of Makka, following patience and waiting
طارق في وادي لَكة… خاض أمواج البحار
Tariq [ibn Ziyad] in the valley of Lakka, penetrated the waves of the ocean
اسألوا ذات الصواري… اسألوا عنا الصحاري
Ask the people of flagpoles, ask the desert people about us
نحن طلاب المعالي… نحن رهبان الليالي
We are seekers of heights, we are the pious of nights
